Why Kragerø?

Synnøve’s grandfather, Thoralf, grew up in the small town of Porsgrunn, just 30 miles north of Kragerø. In 2001, he and Synnøve’s grandmother, Patricia, bought a summer house in Kragerø. A few years later, Synnøve’s parents did the same—making it a beloved summer retreat for the whole Karlsen family. Barney first visited Kragerø with Synnøve in 2017, and it didn’t take long for the beautiful coastline to win him over. Since then, we've returned time and again—each visit only deepening our love for this special place. It quickly became clear that Kragerø was the perfect setting for our wedding, and we can’t wait to share it with all of our favorite people next year. The photo on the homepage was taken during our very first trip here together.

Will it be a whole weekend?

Yes, we plan to have welcome drinks on the Friday and a Taak for sist (thanks for last night!) party on the Sunday.

Can I bring my kids?

As much as we would love for everyone's children to be there, we are limiting the number of children at the wedding to those in our family. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and hope that arrangements can be made so that you can still join us!

What are the nearest airports?

Oslo Torp and Oslo Gardermoen.
