Our Story

We won’t be doing a wedding registry. If you’d still like to give us something, you’re welcome to reach out — but honestly, your effort to travel all the way to Norway is more than enough of a gift for us both!

Dating back to 1901, this hotel offers views of Gunnarsholm Strait and Kragerø Harbor. It provides free WiFi and a terrace. The cute shops and cafés of Kragerø are just a short walk from Hotel Victoria. The beaches of Gunnarsholmen are 4 minutes walk away. Kragerø Sportell &amp; Apartments is located on the waterfront in Kilen, 1.2 mi from central Kragerø. It offers free WiFi and a communal terrace looking out to the fjord. ONWARD JOURNEY TO KRAGERØ

BY CAR Kragerø is located 200 kilometres south of Oslo by road. If you go by car from Oslo, follow the main road E18 and exit the E18 at either Gjerdemyra or at Tangen in Sannidal. There are car rental options at both airports and there is plenty of parking in Kragerø town center. BY BUS AND TRAIN It is possible to get to Kragerø from both of these airports by using public transport. The best way to do this is by using the website <a href="https://www.vy.no/en" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.vy.no/en</a>. From here you can find the quickest and most direct routes that coordinate with your flights and purchase tickets for the entire journey. The titles below in brackets refer to how VY names each location. Oslo Torp (Sandefjord lufthavn) - KragerøTake a bus Fokserød and then change to bus heading to Kristiansand. Disembark at Tangen where a local bus will collect you and take you to Kragerø Oslo Gardamoen (lufthavn) - KragerøThe best route is a train from the airport to Oslo S where you walk to the bus terminal and hop on a bus heading south to Tangen. From Tangen a local bus will collect you and take you to Kragerø.

Getting to Kragerø

GETTING AROUND

Kragerø is a small coastal town, and everything runs at a slightly slower pace here. Getting around is straightforward, but it does take a bit of planning—especially later in the evening. We’ll be organising boat transport for key moments across the weekend, so you won’t need to worry about getting to and from the main events.We’ll share exact timings and departure points closer to the day. Accommodation

We are advising guests to find accommodation in Kragerø town centre where possible, this is because we will be arranging transport between town and our wedding venue on the wedding day. If you choose to stay outside of the town you will need to arrange your own transport to meet our shuttle service or find your own way to the wedding venue.

Hotels in Kragerø 

We have block booked the following hotels in the town for our wedding weekend (13th-17th August). The rooms at Tollboden and Kragerø Hotel will only be reserved for us until June 1st 2026, after that they will become available for public bookings.The Victoria Hotel will only hold rooms up until May 1st 2026.

Tollboden Hotel

A boutique hotel in the centre of town where we will also be holding our welcome drinks on the Friday evening. Prices for a double room range between 2395-2895 NOK per night, with suites available for 3895 NOK per night. There are also two single rooms available. Kragerø Hotel

A good value hotel also well positioned in the town. Prices for a double room range between 1500-1700 NOK per night. There are two single rooms available. Kragerø Sportell HotelAnother more affordable option with nice views and located slightly out of town, approximately a 25 minute walk from the centre or a short drive. VRBO, AirBnb and Booking.com have a limited number of short stay rental properties in and around the Kragerø area. As there is limited supply, we would recommend making enquiries at your earliest convenience.

The Welcome Party

It’s time to say thanks for last night! ‘Taak for sist’ directly translates to ‘thanks for the last time’ i.e thanks for celebrating with us yesterday! To thank you all fully we are having an afternoon BBQ back at Frøvik Gård along with a selection of rekesmorbrod (shrimp sandwiches)and some great music and drinks to cure this mornings hangover! Swimming is also greatly encouraged and we have a surprise to ease that fresh fjord water.. TRAVEL INFO:The Jomfruland high speed ferry will depart at 12.30pm from Kragerø (same departure point as Saturday) Each person is required to pay 100NOK each way for the ferry. The ferry will return to Kragerø at 5pm. Alternatively taxi boats can be found at the Kragerø taxi boat stand or can be ordered via the phone numbers provided on the local transport page. Kragerø locals and family members are welcome to bring their own boats but must keep the ferry drop-off space clear. Please tie up along side each other where possible. Those who might have shaky sea legs are welcome to book a taxi to Frøvik Gård. Taxi numbers can be found on the local transport page. Please let us know if we can expect to see you!

THE ARCHIPELAGO

A great place for a day trip where you can hire bikes, visit the long beaches and famous lighthouse. SKÅTOYA beautiful island only a short ferry ride from town with beautiful trails through the forests and home to the Skåtoy Cafe, a nice place to stop for lunch.

TELEMARK

If extending your trip we would recommend exploring all that Telemark has to offer. The mountains of Telemark offer a scenic contrast to the rugged coast. The Telemark canal offers boat trips up to Dalen in the mountains where you can stay at the traditional Dalen Hotel. Alternatively you could explore further down the coast and visit Lyngør, a beautiful island or head further down to Risør where the annual trebåt (wooden boat) festival will be taking place.

But if it's helpful, Synnøve will most likely be wearing something that hints fairly strongly at her imminent status as a bride, while Barney intends to debut a ‘new’ suit. We will be outside so be sure to bring a warm layer just incase.

Colourful Summer Formal By which we mean, come in whatever fun, colorful suit/dress/whatever that makes you feel suited-and-booted and ready to dance the night away! A reminder that this is summer in Norway, not the Mediterranean, so you will DEFINITELY need warm layers for the evening. And for those wanting to wear heels, be aware that you will be on grass and required to get on and off a boat! Wedges or block heels recommended.
